Buttons/Administration

Administration

Administration covers the tasks that apply to a whole Buttons installation rather than a single position, connection or route: turning installable features on or off, reading system health and restarting services, backing up and restoring configuration, moving configuration between machines, managing secrets and the HTTPS certificate, and recovering a Kubernetes HA deployment.
These pages are for installers and system administrators. Most of them assume full administrator access to Settings.

Enable and manage installable features

Turn optional Buttons features such as NMOS, Tielines, Virtuals, Tally, Projects and third-party surfaces on or off, and import a feature unlock file.

Services and health

Read the Dashboard health signals and System Warnings, check process status under Settings Services, and restart a single process when needed.

Configure and monitor scheduled backups

Create a cron-style backup rule with a retention count, run it on demand, and confirm from the rule card that backups are succeeding.

Restore a backup and verify it

Roll back to a known-good configuration from Previous Backups, understand how a restore protects your current setup, and verify the result.

Export or import Buttons configuration

Export a configuration archive to move or snapshot a Buttons install, import one to replace the current configuration, or reset to factory settings.

Store and rotate connection secrets

Store passwords, API keys and tokens as encrypted secrets, bind connection fields to them, rotate values, and understand how exports treat them.

Replace the HTTPS certificate

Upload an RSA server certificate and private key, plan hostname coverage, roll back to a self-signed certificate, and handle Kubernetes-managed ones.

HA backup and recovery

What protects data in a Kubernetes HA deployment, why scheduled backups need a writable volume there, and how to recover a lost Postgres cluster.
