Tally

Tally tells operators and connected systems what is live, on preview, recording, or otherwise important right now. Buttons models it as Providers that turn input state into Tally Channels on ports, and Consumers that resolve that state relative to routing and react, for example by sending TSL to a UMD display.
Start with the concepts page if the model is new to you, then follow the ATEM guide for a first working path. The remaining pages cover reading Active state, TSL connection settings, and diagnosing problems.

Understand the Tally system

How Tally Channels, Providers, Consumers, lookups and TSL fit together to turn input state into tally and UMD output.

Send ATEM tally and labels to a UMD

Set up a first end-to-end tally path from an ATEM switcher to a TSL multiviewer or UMD display, then verify it.

Interpret Active Tally state

How to tell whether a tally result comes from a port's own state, its routed source or destination, a Virtual Bundle, or a route across routers.

TSL/UMD connections

Create a TSL connection in client or server mode, choose the protocol and network settings, and confirm data is flowing.

Diagnose tally problems

Work through missing, stale, duplicated or incorrect tally and labels stage by stage, from input to Provider to Consumer.
