Buttons/Settings

Settings

Settings holds Buttons' system-wide configuration: the things that apply to the whole install, as opposed to a single position, connection, or route. Most of it is intended for installers and administrators rather than day-to-day operators.
This page is an index. It lists what's under Settings and links to the focused guides that exist so far; the rest are still being written.

What's under Settings#

  • General: Buttons General Settings, including the Support section for exporting diagnostic evidence (see Collect support information) and default time zone/clock format.
  • User Profile: User Management for your own account.
  • Features: Enable or disable installable features. See Enable and manage installable features.
  • Routing: Configure routing defaults and project requirements. See Configure routing defaults and project requirements.
  • Multicast: Configure multicast auto-assignment.
  • NMOS: System-wide NMOS behavior configuration.
  • SSO: SSO Management. See Get started with SSO.
  • Icons: Manage your custom image icons.
  • Configuration data: Import, export, or wipe your system configuration. See Export or import Buttons configuration.
  • Backups: Scheduled backups of your configuration. See Create your first backup, Configure and monitor scheduled backups, and Restore a backup and verify it.
  • Secrets: Manage encrypted secrets used by connections. See Store and rotate connection secrets.
  • API: Control API credentials and request activity. See Get started with the Control API and Secure and monitor the Control API.
  • Services: Monitor and manage services; see Interpret system health and restart services safely and Collect support information.
  • Open Source Licenses: Information about the open source components used in Bitfocus Buttons.
  • Certificates: Manage SSL certificates. See Replace the HTTPS certificate.
  • License: Licensing of Bitfocus Buttons. See Manage your Buttons license and Activate Buttons offline.

Where to go next#

  • Find your way around Buttons, for the rest of the app beyond Settings.
  • Secure a Buttons deployment, for a task-oriented security baseline that draws on several of these pages.
