Buttons/Reference

Reference

Lookup pages for the details the guides don't repeat: what a term means, what every field on the Button Inspector does, every network port Buttons uses, which expression functions and operators exist, every internal action, every button the Routing Presets panel offers, the flags and environment variables read at launch, and what each workflow node's card and connections provide.
Use these pages when you already know what you're building and need the exact name, field, or behavior. If you're new to a topic, start with its guide section and come back here when you need to check something.

Glossary

Short definitions of the terms used across the Buttons documentation, each linking to the guide that explains the concept in full.

Button Inspector reference

Every field on a button's Inspector, organized by tab, covering Design, Actions, Feedbacks, Variables, and Repeater.

Network ports reference

Every network port Buttons and its supporting applications use, which ones are configurable, and what a connection's module or a workflow node needs on the network.

Expressions

Supported operators, control flow, builtin functions, and the $(...) variable syntax in Buttons expressions, with the errors you may see.

Internal actions reference

Every Buttons-native action available without a connection module, grouped by what it operates on, with its key fields.

Routing Presets panel reference

Every button type the Routing Presets panel offers for a Custom Router, from Take and Release to source, destination, and preset buttons.

Startup configuration reference

Command-line flags, environment variables, and port derivation for headless and packaged Buttons deployments, set before launch.

Workflow nodes

How each workflow node works, what its card shows, and what its connections provide, grouped by category.
