Buttons/Workflows

Workflows

A workflow is the automation and advanced-logic tool in Buttons. You connect nodes on a canvas to receive events, read current values, make decisions, run actions and exchange data with other systems, so behavior can run without a button press or with more logic than a direct action sequence provides.
These pages are for anyone who builds or maintains workflows. Start with the concepts, build a small example, then use the recipes when you need a specific timed automation or HTTP integration.

Understand workflows

How workflow nodes, values and events fit together in Buttons, and when a workflow is a better fit than a direct button action.

Build your first workflow

Create a small workflow that fires on a timer, wire it to an action, apply it and confirm it ran.

Reuse a group of workflow nodes safely

Copy and paste nodes between workflows, and know what carries over unchanged before a pasted action or scheduler starts running.

Troubleshoot a workflow

Read the error count, node borders and live values to find why a workflow is not producing the value or action you expect.

Recipes

Focused walkthroughs for timed automations, HTTP calls and REST endpoints built with workflow nodes.
